Patricia “Pat” E. Smith

Patricia “Pat” E. Smith passed away peacefully At Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, NY on July 9, 2026. She was born on June 23,1940 to Charles and Frieda Dunham. Pat grew up in Prattsville, NY and graduated from Gilboa Central School. She then attended Albany Business College

Pat was married to Carl Smith. Together they started their family, having a daughter Shelly and a son Daryl. Carl passed away in 1962. Pat lovingly continued to raise Shelley and Daryl and was eventually blessed with two granddaughters, Shelley’s daughter Brittany and Daryl's daughter Miranda.

Pat was always very close to her granddaughters. Miranda grew up next door to pat and remained next door into her adult life. Because of this, pat was able to enjoy all her great grandchildren.

Pat Started her career at Claude Lutz Insurance Agency where she worked until she retired in 2002.

Pat and some of her friends spent many years bowling in the local bowling league together sharing a lot of laughs and good times. She also loved summer activities and boating with her longtime partner Ike until his passing in 2010. Pat loved cardinals, loons and her flower gardens, which were often reflected in her collections and her clothing.

Pat will be missed by her daughter Shelly (Ted), her granddaughter Brittany (Evan), her son Daryl, her granddaughter Miranda (Curtis), and her great grandchildren Dean, Kinsley, Addison, and Cheyenne. Pat is also survived by her sister Shirley Doroski of Grand Gorge, NY and several nieces and nephews.

 She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Donald Dunham, mother-in-law Dora (Grammy) Smith, father-in-law Byron Smith, and several sisters and brothers in law.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday August 19th, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Fairlawn cemetery in Prattsville, NY.
