Peter T. Salamin

Peter T. Salamin age 71, passed away in early April 2025. The son of Walter and Nettie Salamin, Peter was born on June 7, 1953 in Queens, New York. He was 10 years old when he and his parents moved to Margaretville, NY, where he spent the rest of his life.
He worked at the A&P, known to some as The Legend of A&P, until they decided not to rebuild after being flooded out numerous times. He also worked for the Dollar General and Belleayre Mt.
Peter was a longtime member with the Margaretville Fire Department dedicating many years of service for the Margaretville community. He was also an avid New York Knicks fan where if the game was on, he would always find a way to watch it.
Peter leaves behind his older brother, Michael Salamin, and his wife, Margaret, and her three sons, Matthew, Michael Jr, and Marc. Along with his great nephews and great nieces, Matthew Jr, Andrew, James and Ava.
His parents, Walter and Nettie, predeceased him.
A private burial with immediate family will take place graveside at the Margaretville Cemetery Annex.
Peter was known to many throughout the Margaretville community and surrounding area. His family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and thank you to those that were around him.
