Robert “Smitty” Smith

Robert "Smitty" Smith of Andes passed away April 20th after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 72. 

Smitty was the son of Ida Smith-Eden and Ernest Smith (both predeceased him).

Smitty was born in Clemons NY (Putnam) on April 10th 1953. He moved to Andes as a teenager and graduated from Andes Central school. He worked at the Andes Highway department for many years before retiring. 

Smitty is survived by his wife Amy Ruchar-Smith of Andes.

His children who he loved so much Billy Smith, Steven Smith and Tina Smith and his grandchildren, Mercedez, Tatiana, Alexia, John, Kaylon, Flora Fae, Justice, Jenna, Nicky, Anthony, Destiny and Zach and 5 Great Grandchildren. 

Also survived by his sister Gale Brannen and brother Ernest "Butch" Smith along with several nieces, nephews and their families. 

Per Smittys wishes there will be no services but a Big Old Tailgate Party at a later date.
