Arthur H. Peterson

Arthur H. Peterson, age 84, of Margaretville, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 3, 2025.

Arthur was born on March 29, 1941, and was the oldest of eleven brothers and sisters. He made his home in Margaretville for the past 40 years, where he was known for his quiet strength, deep devotion to family, and faithful presence in the church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Peterson; his son, Arthur Peterson, and daughter-in-law Paula Peterson; his daughter, Rita D. Peterson; grandchildren Julia, Sara, and Heather Peterson; great-granddaughter Sophia Lopez; and many loving siblings. Arthur was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hynes Funeral Home, 48 Walnut Street, Margaretville, NY. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Margaretville, with burial to follow.
