Eileen Lee Buchar

Eileen Lee Buchar of Grand Gorge passed away April 19, from complications following a fall.

Born August 22, 1934 at Bellview Hospital in New York City, the daughter of August Piltz, born in Germany and Elizabeth Such Piltz, born in Hungary, she was raised in New Jersey.

Leaving school at an early age, Lee worked dozens of jobs ending as an Art Director at Sawyer Ferguson Walker, a leading advertising agency in New York City. She retired to Grand Gorge where she enjoyed volunteering and gardening.

Lee is survived by her husband Jan Thomas Buchar of Monterey, MA and Grand Gorge, NY, long-time friends Marie Wilder, Nancy Haney and Rodney Constantinides and newer friends Susan Varrecchia and Archie and the crew at the Grand Gorge meal site.

A service in Lee’s memory will be held on Saturday May 17, at 1pm at Pilgrim Holiness Church, 37283 State Highway 23, Grand Gorge with Rev. Mike Musser officiating.
