Michael A. “Mick” Bohan
Michael Adelbert Bohan came into this world on April 10th 1953 and left us on September 9th, 2026, following a very brief illness. He was the son of Ronald and Beverly (Slover) Bohan.
On June 19th, 1982, he married his best friend and soulmate Kimberly Wagner. They shared 51 years of ups and downs and many great adventures. A true love that was a mystery to many but not to them.
In his younger days, Mick was an athlete, soccer being his favorite sport. He played in college at Delhi and also town team soccer after high school. When living in Florida you might find him at the beach playing basketball or paddleball. One year while visiting home, in Margaretville he decided to run the Pepacton Pale Face Marathon, after never running a race like that in his life he finished all 26 miles wearing converse basketball sneakers. A man of great determination when he set his mind to something
Mick was a construction worker by trade. He did many phases of it from concrete and foundation work to finish and framing work. He left his mark from Florida to New York to Oregon and assorted other places up and down the East Coast
His greatest accomplishment was the home he built on top of the mountain for Kim and himself. It was his happy place, and he took great pride in it.
Mick was a Fleischmanns’ boy through and through, having grown up in the village in the heyday of the 1960s. He never forgot what a grand old place she was and always kept abreast of what went on there. He always hoped for the revival that is starting to come.
Mick is survived by his wife, his brother John Powell his cousins Tom (Kathy) Grocholl, Carl ( Pam) Grocholl, Jim ( Kelly) Grocholl and their families. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Chris Maulik, brother-in-law Dennis (JoAnn Haigh) Conklin and his nieces and nephews Jay (Stacy) Conklin, Lee (Mickel) Maulik, Lucy Vesely, Lory (John Marron) Maulik and their families. And last but certainly not least Rita Wolfe his “sister from another” and her family Travis, Josh, and Nicole
He was predeceased by his mother and father, his aunt and uncle that raised him, Jackie and Lew Grocholl, his brothers Danny Bohan and Bobby Powell and his in-laws Tom and Pat Wagner and brother-in-law Tom Maulik.
Please join Kim at the Margaretville Fire Hall on Sunday September 13th from 1:00PM-4PM to celebrate Mick, have a bite to eat and share a laugh and a memory and say farewell.
BYOB if you like, Mick wouldn't have it any other way.
